Create a new image with a size of your choice. In my opinion you should never use a size bigger than 500x500. Select a colour which will give the bark the base look. |

Fill the layer with the corresponding tool. After that select FILTER --> NOISE FILTER --> ADD NOISE. |

Next up is the TILING Filter dran. FILTER --> TEXTURE --> TILING. And the CRACKS filter after this. This one is too unter the TEXTURE section. |

Rotate the image at 90 degrees. IMAGE --> ROTATE --> ROTATE 90° COUNTERCLOCK. You'll find the last used filter under FILTER --> SMOOTHING --> MOVEMENT SMOOTH. Save it in pcx format. |
